Halloween Safety For Your Family
by: Ralph Winn

Ghosts and ghouls will be about this October 31. But you must protect your little goblins from the real dangers that are out there on Halloween. Keep your kids safe and your holiday fun with these Halloween safety tips.

Halloween Safety Tip #1: See and Be Seen

It?s usually dark when kids go trick or treating, and in their costumes, they can be very hard for drivers to see. Your kids will be crossing the street and walking along the sidewalk, so keep them safe from traffic by making sure they are clearly visible to drivers. You can do this in two ways. One, keep their costumes light. Dress them in light colors like white, or orange, or yellow. However, this only works for kids dressed as ghosts, pumpkins, or bananas. You can also outfit your child with a reflective vest or tape that will light up in drivers? headlights. Make sure your children won?t be left in the dark - keep the little monsters visible.

Halloween Safety Tip #2: Arm Against Animals

Your neighborhood is probably full of pets, raccoons, badgers, and opossums. Protect your children from loose dogs or angry raccoons with animal repellant. Security Stores sells canine repellant that will fend off smaller animals and even stronger bear repellant that will get the big guys.

Halloween Safety Tip #3: Arm Against Bad Guys

Dogs and bears aren?t the only living danger children can run into. When it comes to Halloween safety, protecting your child from people who mean to do harm to them is parents? number one concern. We sell pepper sprays that can effectively disarm a criminal and give your child time to run and scream for help.

Halloween Safety Tip #4: Make Some Noise

Personal safety alarms will draw attention to your child?s situation immediately. If a stranger approaches and tries to attack your child, they can set off their personal safety alarm, which will emit a high pitched siren to call for help. Often, the criminal will run away.

Halloween Safety Tip #5: Go Along for the Fun

The best way to protect your kids during Halloween trick-or-treating is to accompany them on the adventure. Younger children should always be supervised by an adult, and older kids, though they may not want a parent tagging along, will be safer with mom or dad around. You don?t have to ring to the doorbell for them. You can just hang back a little and observe, increasing the Halloween safety of your children.

Halloween Safety Tip #6: Examine Before You Eat

Your Halloween safety vigilance doesn?t end when you get home. Before your children eat any of their treats, inspect the candy for anything that looks suspicious. Homemade candies, though they can be a thoughtful effort by a well-meaning neighbor, are dangerous because you don?t know what is in them. The same goes for unwrapped candies - they may have been tampered with. Once you have confirmed that your child?s candy is safe, then you can let them go nuts. You?ll feel better knowing that all they?ll get is a bit hyper and maybe a sick tummy.

Halloween safety should be your number one concern this Halloween, but once that?s taken care of, you and your family can have a spooky, scary, fun holiday filled with all the treats - and none of the tricks.

Are You Ready For Vista? What You Need To Know About The Next Microsoft Windows

by: Titus Hoskins

Vista is coming soon to a computer near you, are you ready? Unlike past editions of Microsoft Windows this new version seems to be generating a lot more pre-launch buzz. Maybe it has to do with all the new improved browsing and computer features that the Vista will supposedly deliver.

What is Vista?

Vista is the new version of Microsoft Windows, which will offer users a greatly improved browsing and computer experience mainly through more dynamic 'live' windows and faster presentation. It will offer a more robust security (direly needed!) and more business features in its corporate OS with encryption, Unix services, and virtual machine capabilities.

You will be able to use different graphical tools to more efficiently manage your information and applications on your desktop. If you read the information on the official Vista site, you may come away believing your desktop will never look or feel the same again. Vista Homepage: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/

There is one underlying reason why this may just be the case. According to the Longhorn Statement of last year, RSS will play a major role in these applications and in the OS itself. Longhorn is the name for the Microsoft Windows Server code. RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication' and Microsoft should be applauded for bringing RSS to the forefront. Many believe RSS will change the very nature of how we use the Internet and our computers.

Regardless of what it may contain, the new Windows Vista has many consumers delaying the purchase of their next PC or laptop until the new Windows arrives. Many were hoping for a pre-Christmas release but...

When Will Vista Arrive?

According to Microsoft's own official site on Vista, Windows Vista will be available in early 2007. However, Vista (as of Sept.22, 2006) is already in Beta testing with over 30,000 testers from around the globe. Read more about this at the Windows Vista Team Blog: http://blogs.technet.com/windowsvista/default.aspx

Vista will have TWO Interfaces

Vista Windows will have two interfaces, Basic and Aero. The Basic Interface will be similar to Windows XP and will run on most current PCs and Laptops. The Aero Interface is more advanced and you will need higher system requirements to take advantage of all the new features. (See Below)

Actually, Vista will have six versions in all. According to the Vista web site these versions will range for the very basic up to the highest performance level.

* Windows Vista Starter which runs only on 32-bit systems and will be so on new machines in India, Thailand and other emerging markets.

* Windows Vista Home Basic which is very comparable to XP Home which will not offer the high-end graphics and media features.

* Windows Vista Home Premium which will offer these graphics and media.

* Windows Vista Business which is similar to the current XP Professional.

* Windows Vista Enterprise will be only available to those customers with volume licenses - will offer Unix service, encryption and virtual machine capabilities.

* Windows Vista Ultimate will combine Vista Enterprise and Vista Home Premium which will give customers the highest version of Windows.

There will also be "N" versions of Vista Business and Vista Home Basic for the European market that will have Window Media Player removed. Microsoft is catering to all levels of the marketplace and its a prudent business move because many current PCs and laptops don't have the system requirements to take advantage of the highest version of Vista Aero.

Your System Requirements for Vista?

Your system requirements for the new Windows Vista will depend on which version of Vista you're buying. For the basic Vista you will need a modern processor (800MHz or more) with at least 512 MB of system memory. Your graphics processor should be DirectX 9 capable.

For the fully loaded Vista you will need a little more robust system with at least 1 GHz processor with 1 GB of system memory. This should be supported with DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB of graphics memory. A premium graphics card like ATI or NVIDIA is recommended and you will need a 40 GB hard drive with 15 GB free space. In order to watch and record live TV you may have to add additional hardware.

Still not sure your current system will support Vista, just run the free Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor RC found here: http://www.microsoft.com/window...eadvisor/default.mspx

This program will tell you if your system can currently run Vista or if you will need to upgrade your computer.

What Noteworthy Features Will Vista Give You?

If we get over the improved features like better organizing of information, better security, and more reliability - what new features will the Vista deliver?

One that really jumps out - INSTANT SEARCH

Instead of using the slow cascading "All Programs", you can just type in a file name or task and you will find what you're looking for. The new instant start menu will be a lot quicker, saving you time.

This also jumps out - DYNAMIC WINDOWS

Perhaps, one of the major improvement will be in the appearance and use of the new desktop with transparent "glass-like" windows and animated windows on the taskbar. It will have live thumbnails on the taskbar, place your mouse over these and you will see the live contents without having to bring it up on your screen. You will also be able to create a three-dimensional stack of open windows on your desktop and you will have smoother performance in dynamic content or windows such as video.

And this one - SPEECH RECOGNITION

Speech Recognition will play a major role in the new Windows Vista which promises to feature all the latest Microsoft speech technologies with 'unparalleled voice recognition accuracy' supported with multiple languages and a more human-sounding synthesizer - step aside Stephen Hawkins!

Plus, you will be able to control your computer by using your voice. It will provide you with a list of smart choices, whether it's selecting a word or choosing an application. Mouseless and hands-free computing tasks - might be worth seeing.

And this - WATCH AND RECORD LIVE TV

You will be able to watch and record live TV with Vista. You may have to use additional hardware to access this feature. It is only a matter of time before the union of the Internet and full TV broadcasting services. Windows Vista may help in furthering this rather slow process. Integration, Integration Integration.

Also this - BETTER SECURITY AND ENCRYPTION

The new Window Vista offers improved security and has a few new encryption programs. There is something called the Windows BitLocker? Drive Encryption which help protect the sensitive data on your hard drive - especially important in our ever increasing mobile lifestyles and workforces. This program will encrypt your entire Windows system and protect your information in the case of a stolen or lost PC or laptop.

Then there is the Encrypting File System (EFS) which will protect user-level files and folders. This is important when two or more people share the same computer as in a company network. Companies will be able to use smart cards with EFS keys to allow employees or workers to access only the content that's appropriate for them to access. In addition, companies or users will be able to restrict use of USB keys and other removable storage devices, thus hampering the quick removal of data from your computer.

Wildcard - What role will RSS Play?

For interested techies and web watchers, the role RSS will play in the new Vista is an intriguing question. What about all those new RSS applications? The list extensions? What will it bring? Read more here http://blogs.msdn.com/rssteam/

Will RSS (via Vista) be given the means to finally turn the Internet into a Billion Channel Universe? Turning every web site into its own mini-broadcasting system sending out its content to all interested parties. Don't come to us, we will deliver. Changing static content into dynamic content. Furthermore, will speech recognition turn this dynamic content into a fully interactive hands-free browsing experience. Might give a whole new meaning to the expression 'Look Ma - no hands!'

All kidding aside, Windows Vista does offer some unique features that will change how we use our computers. It offers greater security and more integrated networking and applications. It does promise to make our desktop interaction more responsive and smoother with 'live' social bookmarks and windows. One can only hope Vista lives up to its name and gives us a whole new viewing experience.

The Advantages of a Broadband Connection

by: Morgan Hamilton

What kind of Internet connection do you have? Are you waiting ages for that page to load? I know how bad it is. But consider the times we are living in. Are we not supposed to simply fly through web pages like an Acura NSX or a 911 Turbo? However, if your Internet connection is really slow then you would be lucky to move at 5 miles per hour. All that really matters is the Internet service provider and the broadband connections available. How good is your current Internet provider? Do you pay lots of cash for a service working only half the time? There are still many people who do that. But you should no longer stand for it. You have another, a better option. You can have the fastest Internet speed at all times with all the great high speed cable services available.

Do you know about Internet broadband connection? Even though it has been quite a popular thing nowadays, there are still people who lack the necessity knowledge. There is one very important thing related to Internet - this is the connection speed. Generally, there are three different Internet connections you can have from home. You can choose which one to have depending on how much time you spend online and how much you are willing to pay for the service. There are many people spending most of their time surfing Cyber space, while others barely get online once a month. I guess the latter is quite hard to imagine, but you have to trust me on that. Such people exist!

My mother is a perfect example. She doesn't know what a broadband connection is and I don't think she even cares about it. I assume this has lots to do with the generation issue. How would my parents know anything about computers and the Internet as when there were kids, went to school and even attended the university there were no computers. Anyway, let's go on with the three different Internet connection options. First of them comes the dial-up which is the oldest and the slowest connection. Apart from that it comes with that awful noise everyone hates.

The second option is the popular DSL which is many times better than the dial-up as far as connection speed is concerned. Furthermore, you are twenty four hours a day connected to the Internet. The last option available is undoubtedly the best. It is the high speed broadband connection. It is the most time efficient as the internet speed is extremely fast. With broadband connection you don't have to wait to download media. Do you already have high speed cable broadband connection? If not, you have no idea what you are missing. Hop online immediately and check the greatest deals available.

RSS Feed Tools

by: Jack Doren

Difference between RSS Submit and RSS Feed Submit.

Let's compare the two solutions ...

a] Both tools are desktop software, which essentially submits your feeds to the appropriate places online. As such, both tools provide the same functionality.

b] RSS Submit will submit your feeds to 78 engines and directories, while RSS Feed Submit covers 75. Not much difference here, although it seems that RSS Submit might be doing a better job at keeping their tool updated (I've been using them since April and already received many updates that made the software easier to use and added new engines and directories).

c] Certain search engines and directories require more information than can be provided through a fully automatical submission process. RSS Submit tackles this problem by first asking you to fill-in a longer form and then automatically taking you to each of the manual submission sites, where it already pre-fills the forms and only asks you to confirm manually. RSS Feed Submit makes this even easier, first requesting that same information, but then doing all the work automatically. The only question in my mind is the quality of submissions and how they compare to eachother.

d] Ease of use is a strong factor, and RSS Submit takes the game here by allowing you to submit multiple feeds at the same time, save them in the management interface and track how many times you submitted each of them. RSS Feed Submit allows you to do one at a time.

e] As far as expanding the basic functionality of the tool, RSS Feed Submit is the clear winner, as it allows you to add new search engines and directories by yourself, even easily tackling those that would otherwise require a manual submission. A great user interface for adding new sites.

f] The final differentiating factor is the price, with RSS Submit starting at $44.95 for the Personal Edition, and RSS Feed Submit selling for $29.95.

How To Install and Setup WordPress Blog

by: Bedrich Omacka

In these days, blogging become more and more popular. Internet is full of different weblogs today. Some bloggers use services like Blogger.com. Those who want to have their blogs more under control are looking for quality blog script. In this article I will introduce probably the best PHP script for blogging. I will explain how to install it and how to setup this script to work properly.

Web hosting requirements for WordPress

Before you start the installation process, ensure that your web host offers PHP support and MySQL database. PHP version must be at least 4.1 or higher and MySQL version must be 3.23.23 or higher. If you are not sure which version your web hosting provider currently use, contact their help desk and ask them first.

How to install WordPress

You can download WordPress script from developers website for free (under GNU General Public License). Save the *.zip file on your hard disk and use software like WinZip or Total Commander to unpack these files to temporary folder. First, rename the wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php. Then open this file in your favorite text editor (Notepad will do). Edit next variables -- the name of the MySQL database (create a new one using your web hosting control panel in case you had never created it before), your database username, password and MySQL database server (usually localhost). In the next step, upload all files to your web host. Point your browser to /wp-admin/install.php and follow the instructions on the screen. During the installation process the admin password will be generated. Note this password because you will need it in the next step.

Another and easier solution how to install this PHP script is to sign up for a quality web hosting service which offers pre-installed PHP scripts. Then easily go to your control panel, find the section with pre-installed scripts and select WordPress. The installer will do all the job for you. All you need to do is to choose the script you want to install.

How to setup WordPress

Now the script should be successfully installed. Point your browser to wp-login.php file in your WordPress folder and sign in with the username admin and the password generated during the installation. Your password can be changed from the Profile section at any time.

For many bloggers the look of their blogs is very important. From this reason WordPress offers the option to change the layout and I will show you how to do it. First look around the Internet and find some WordPress theme you will like. Try to type something like WordPress+theme to Google. You will find many websites with pretty nice WordPress themes. Then upload the layout files to wp-content/themes/your-new-layout-name folder. From the Presentation section select your new theme and activate it. Your blog has now a new look!

Ok, now is the right time to start blogging. You can easily start from the Write section of your Admin Panel. I wish you a lot of success and many satisfied readers!

Choosing A Graphics Card

by: Kadence Buchanan

To the uninformed consumer, buying a new graphics card can be a daunting task. There are literally hundreds of different aspects to consider when buying a new card, and we've composed this article to help you find the graphics card that best suits your needs and your budget.

- The first major thing to consider when purchasing a card is the type of chip that you want. The main two companies that market graphics card chips are Nvidia and ATI, and pretty much every graphics card available features a chip from one of these two manufacturers. The chip of the card is of utmost importance; different graphic cards with the same type of chip often feature similar performance levels.

- Next, you're going to want to consider the amount of memory that your future video card will have. The more RAM that is in a graphics card, the more it can process, giving it more speed and smoother transitioning.

- You're also going to want to consider the possible multimedia applications of your future card. TV-out is one type of feature incorporated into graphics card that is commonly sought-after. TV-out compatible graphics cards allow you to hook your computer up to your television, allowing for the viewing of movies and other general purpose features shown on your TV screen. Another feature that is gaining popularity in the graphics card world is dual-head support. Dual-head support allows for you to use two separate monitors side-by-side with your windows toolbar stretching across the two screens.

- When it comes to spending money, you can get a sub-par graphics card for less than $70. However, those who are looking for a decent graphics card that can hold its own for a few years to come, you're probably going to want to spend around $200. Top-of-the-line graphics cards are available and are priced upwards of $600. While the chips are cutting edge, they're usually not too much more noticeably efficient than those priced slightly lower. Performance will increase, without a doubt, but you won't see the same kind of effects as opposed to buying a $300 chip over a $150 one.

Now that you know more about graphic cards, you can more easily find one to suit your needs while sticking to your budget. Only buy the features that you find necessary; you can spend a lot of extra money unnecessarily by being coaxed in by bells and whistles.

MySpace Layouts ? Ease Of Use

by: Magalie Noel Dresse

MySpace has become, by far, one of the most popular social interactive sites on the Internet. Now, people from all over are registering with the service and creating profiles and pages to display their talents, skills, and any personal information they wish to share about themselves with others. It has also become a popular place for people to meet, chat, and share opinions and ideas. Something that adds to its popularity is the ease with which profiles and pages can be created.

In the early days of the public?s use of the Internet, many people who created their own web pages had to learn the HTML, or Hyper Text Markup Language code that is necessary to create a site. While this is one of the easiest programming languages to learn, it does take time and understanding of what is happening on the screen and in the computer. It does, however, give users full control over what goes on their pages and how that information is displayed, and is still preferred by many business owners and serious web developers whose sites are designed to attract customers and sell products or services. As with everything else, the pace of the world wide web has increased, and so have the lives of many people. Now, it seems everyone is looking for the immediate solution, and MySpace has helped to provide just that.

For those wanting to create a personal page, or just wanting to add information about their band, films, or other talents to the social interaction, MySpace is equipped with the tools and features to do just that. There are many layouts from which to choose, and, perhaps the best part is, that it isn?t necessary to actually the HTML code in order to create a page.

While many web building sites have been established over the past several years that make creating a web site quick and easy, few are as thorough and web-friendly as the MySpace site. Add to that the advantages that having many people see and access each site everyday, and it makes MySpace the obvious solution.

There are many ways to create a profile and various features that can be added to it once it is established. There are many fonts and colors to choose from, and several ways of arranging text, graphics, and other items on each page. MySpace also allows users to modify their pages. Although JavaScript is not allowed, HTML and XHTML, along with CSS can be used to change the vast majority of the profile to the preference of the user.

Users also have the option of adding embedded music into the site so that users will hear a particular song when they first enter the profile. This is done by a service called MySpace Music, which allows bands to post songs onto their respective profiles. Here, videos, and any other related content can be added as long as it is allowed. It?s all about true customization, and MySpace is that at its finest.

Windows Vista Coming Soon

by: Chris Kaminski

Remember back when windows 95 was first released how people waited overnight online to get a copy? Well... maybe you don't but Windows 95 was a huge step forward in personal computing. It was the interface that made it possible for the average person to own and interact with a computer. People might not line up to get the new Vista but never the less it will be the operating system to bring us into the next generation on PC's.

Originally labeled "Longhorn" Vista is scheduled to be released in December so production computers (Dell, Compaq etc.) will have it on the shelves by Christmas. The retail version is scheduled for January. Vista had it's release date moved back several times because MS was having trouble building in all the new features they wanted to introduce. In fact this release will be missing some of these features but they will follow later as extensions.

What is new in Vista? Some of the features are new and very cool while others were badly needed. Obviously the most needed was security, and Vista now includes built in spyware tools and a phishing filter. Many of the network and browser security issues Vista has corrected. A new Internet Explorer browser, with very cool tabbing and search features. It will also allow multiple home pages. There are massive performance and stability improvements. New calendar, Media Player, DVD authoring and burning tools, a movie maker and a couple of versions will have Media Center built in.

Now I mentioned versions, there will be six all together, so there is bound to be one that will suite your needs. For the business versions there are new search and productivity tools and the new integration with the new MS Office and business tools will make it even more productive.

There is a price to pay for this, the new Vista is not a small program and though it is the first scalable OS, which means it will read your system and install only what your system will support you will need a fairly strong machine They say it will run on 512 Megs of RAM but you better figure on at least a Gig. You will also need fairly decent graphic capabilities. If you have an older machine don't think about running Vista. We will go into more detail about the different features in future articles but I can tell you that after training on Vista, I like it.

Automation - The Key to Success Online

by: Izzy Camacho

If you've been looking into selling products online then you've probably heard some "expert" somewhere recommend that you create a web site that is fully automated and helps you make money 24 hours a day. While that might sound great, what they often forget to tell you is HOW to do that.

Well, I'm going to tell you right now, in this article!

First, what IS a Fully Automated Web Site? A Fully Automated Web Site can be defined as one that is equipped with an integrated suite of both e-commerce and internet marketing tools in a fashion that will allow you to be the most profitable with the least amount of effort.

Most e-commerce systems are equipped with the following essentials:

- A shopping cart.
- Acceptance and processing of credit cards.
- A maintenance system that allows you to add/change products.
- An order-retrieval system that enables you to fulfill orders.

However, what most of them are lacking are marketing tools. If your website hits it big and you don't have the proper tools in place, then you will be a slave to e-mail and order processing. I'm sure that's not what you intended.

There are several marketing strategies that are essential in the creation of a successful e-commerce web site:

- Email marketing (broadcasting) of prospects/customers
- Effective use of autoresponders (generate automatic email messages)
- Online Newsletter
- Online Form / Survey to capture your prospect's email address
- Electronic Product Delivery (if you sold a digital product)
- Advertisement (Ad) Tracking
- Back End Sales
- Affiliate program

Now, if you had a system that would support the integration of ALL of these marketing tools in addition to the necessary e-commerce essentials, then you would have a Fully Automated Web Site. After all, it has been shown that it often takes 7 or more ad exposures before prospective customers actually make a purchase. Consider the following scenario:

A prospect clicks on an advertisement in an online magazine.

This action increments a counter for this particular ad to help you determine how well it?s working. They don?t decide to buy as of yet but join your newsletter. They are now considered a prospect. You begin to send them a monthly email newsletter. Additionally, an autoresponder kicks in to thank them for joining the newsletter as well as scheduling them to get email twice a month for the next 90 days reiterating your product benefits and inviting them to purchase.

Upon sending them one of your "juicy" offers that they couldn't refuse, they finally purchase. They will automatically be removed from your prospect list and added to your customer list.

Based on the particular product or service they?ve purchased, they will receive a series of emails every two weeks for the next 6 months offering complementary products.

This will be the engine that will drive your back end sales and keep your customers coming back to your web site.

Being able to play out a scenario such as this using one integrated system would be pretty impressive don?t you think?

The internet big boys do this with expensive e-commerce platform suites produced by vendors such as IBM, Microsoft and Oracle.

Having your system automatically perform these follow up tasks frees you up to spend more time on your business, your health or your family!

=====> What can you do to create a fully automated web site?

Fortunately, there are ways that you can automate your website in much the same way that the big boys do. The best and most cost-effective way would be to sign up with one of the handful of Application Service Providers available on the internet which provide a shopping cart integrated with a full suite of marketing tools. Normally, the shopping cart and tools are very flexible and can be incorporated into any website.

=====> Are there any other ways to automate your business besides working with a total solution provider?

You can accomplish some level of automation without an integrated shopping cart system, however, it will require manual intervention and of course it would be incomplete. I believe that the most important asset of your e-commerce business is your email lists. Therefore, concentrate on the implementation of a good autoresponder/list server system to "enhance" your present e-commerce website. There are several good ones on the market.

Look for providers that allow you to:

- Create multiple lists.
- Add prospects via a web form, email, or manually through a management console.
- Send out an unlimited number of autoresponder messages.
- Send out an unlimited number of email broadcasts.
- Set up and distribute a newsletter.

When setting up your autoresponder system, create one list for your "prospects" and another one for your "customers". Now, here's where you come in: when a person orders your product, you will have to perform the extra task of logging into your autoresponder system and manually remove them from the prospect list and add them to the customer list. This action will then trigger your customer autoresponder series of messages to be sent.

Remember, the key to building a successful e-commerce web site is to automate your marketing engine as much as possible and drive your prospects and customers back to your web site. This will certainly create a money magnet e-commerce web site for you!

Information Products - Free Vs Paid

by: Shouvik Mazumder

There are many membership sites on the web. Some of them are paid, some are free. All these membership sites provide information on a range of topics in forms of ebooks, softwares, videos, teleseminars, podcasting etc.

Also there are many ebooks available on the net (both for free and for payment) containing information on various topics.

Now have you ever considered that ?why does an ebook or membership site provides information for free, while others are providing the same information only after receiving some payment??

The answer is quite simple: The information is NOT same.

There is a gap (and this gap can be quite wide) between the quality of information for the free and paid versions, and this is what makes the paid version a paid version.

When you read a free ebook on anything, you always feel that you miss something important. While reading a paid ebook does not make you feel like that.

You may feel that you can find every information, about a topic, by yourself, within a short period of time, by searching through search engines. But, in reality ............ you are going the wrong way.

That is simply NOT possible, even if all the information are available via web. I know this, because I myself have tried to do this, and failed. Even after spending 1 months on searching over a topic, I have got more information on that topic (which I never got earlier through searching), through some other marketers.

When you try to gather information on any topic through searching (in other words, when you try to get information for free), you perform the following tasks:-

1) First you write down some keywords related to your topic

2) Then you go to your favorite search engine and enter those keywords in the search box.

3) After that, you read information on the resulting webpages.

4) Then you decide which of the information are going to benefit you.

5) Lastly, you arrange your gathered information in a step-by- step, easy-to-read format.

Now, believe me, doing all these steps will take away a lot of your time and energy. What if you can not give the time required? Further, if you suddenly encounter more valuable information about that topic, it will be very difficult for you to rearrange the whole thing.

So, here comes the importance of paid version of information over free version of information. Paid version of information is ready for you to read and digest. You don?t need to search for anything. The research is already done for you, by the information product developer. And the information product developer is charging from you for this.

The info product developers are always at a distance. They know they need to put valuable information into their info product that must benefit the readers, and which would justify their charging. They first spend their time on thorough research and then they spend their time on carefully crafting their information product. They include valuable tips within their info product which you will net get from anywhere else. They are a master over a certain topic. And their vast exposure on that topic reflects on the quality of the product they create.

A General Approach: From Free To Paid

In general, to sell their information products, many information product developers first create a free version of information product (like a free report) on the theme of the paid version. Then they input a ?useful, but incomplete approach? within that report. That means they first discuss some problems and solutions within the free report relating to the theme of the paid version (but not fully disclosing everything). Then they create an urgency in the mind of the readers of the report to buy the paid version from them so that the readers can get all the solutions for all the problems on that topic.

This is a good way to sell. The readers know that they can trust the author and his recommendation, as they have already read his report. The author, on the other hand, can be certain of creating some credibility in the mind of his readers, and hence can expect some sales.

The Social Bookmarking Phenomenon

by: Madison Lockwood

Some days, it seems that we are quickly evolving from a digital world where information was THE marketable commodity to a communications market, where new methods of communicating, networking and socializing are being introduced on a rapid fire basis and are the new consumers of online attention and time. Blogs, wikis, RSS newsfeeds, podcasts, video socialization built around applications like YouTube...all of these are recently formulated methods of communication that seemingly overnight have developed millions of participants.

One of the networking methodologies that has evolved from Internet architecture is the phenomenon of "social bookmarking." One of the more popular sites is del.icio.us. On this site the notion is that you, the web surfer, share interests with others who have web access via your bookmarked URLs. It's the same concept as bookmarking favorites with your browser, but the collection of favorites has a coding system and is shared with others. You build a library of URLs that reflect your interests and that you consider worth visiting. You add a personal "tag" with a keyword that characterizes the site.

You can "subscribe" to tags so that you see every new post with that tag. That in turn can take you to the poster's entire list of favorites which may prove to be a new trove of information for you. del.icio.us allows you to go through the same exercise with podcasts, which are now scattered across the Internet galaxy like asteroids.

Others on the web have access to your library and thus to your personal interests. Utilizing a web based application (in this case, del.icio.us) participants are able to search through sites that others have bookmarked, using not only a standard search term but the tag that has been used to characterize the site. Tags form a collective body of URLs and thus, a body of knowledge - and collective access to those tags forms a community of people with common interests. Included in the process is an optional personal profile, which provides your email address and allow others to communicate with you personally.

One of the drawbacks to this format is that a tag search is going to get you every commercial website out there who has laid claim to the same keyword. It takes a lot of scanning and scrolling to find sites that have been tagged by individuals instead of search engines.

There are several platforms out there for social networking. Flickr (www.flickr.com) is a site that uses uploaded photos for networking purposes instead of URLs. www.43places.com is a site where you upload your travel experiences, travel photos and travel interests along with your profile. Wists (www.wists.com) is a "social shopping" exchange where the bookmarks are all about commercial shopping sites. The level of personal communication allowed by social networking sites is up to you: on 43 Places you can post your photo but refuse personal email. You can also hold the line at public access to your favorites library on del.icio.us.

Other social bookmarking platforms (or tools) as they are called, include:

- Backflip
- Blinklist
- blogmarks
- Connotea
- de.lirio.us
- feedmarker
- Jots
- Lookmarks
- Scuttle
- unalog
- Spurl
- Simpy
- Wists
- Yahoo! My Web 2.0

They all have an assortment of tricks and widgets that make their sites a little different. Some of them have fairly sophisticated search methods for their subscribed users; some allow you to "bundle" tags for search purposes; most provide lists of the most popular bookmarks and the recent posts. It's all an interesting experiment in 'distance sharing'. Making use of it for professional (research) or personal uses simply requires taking the time to become comfortable with the methodology and then learning how to get maximum usage out of the tagging system.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Dexterity Customization

by: Andrew Karasev

Microsoft Great Plains software development, customizations, reporting. Microsoft Dexterity programming as reliable alternative to newer technologies and platforms, such as .Net, C# and VB MS Visual Studio development, eConnect, XML: Web Services.

Alba Spectrum Group is proud to announce Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity group development headcount increase. We are serving USA nation-wide from our Dexterity project management facilities in Houston, TX and Chicago, IL. Luis Leung (Alba Spectrum Texas) and Andrew Karasev (Alba Spectrum Illinois) are lead project managers for Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity customization, integration, reporting, form modification projects. Some Microsoft Dexterity technological features:

? Sanscript. This is Dexterity programming language. It is actually compiled and stored in Dynamics.dic with development source code. Dex is cursor oriented DB accessing programming language, however you can also call MS SQL Server stored procedures (with SQL Select statement aggregation logic)

? Alternate Forms. Technically you can modify any form you like in Dynamics.Dic ? original Microsoft Dynamics GP objects repository. But you might encounter future upgrade issues ? original forms are subject to redesign by Microsoft Dynamics subdivision without any notice

? Dexterity Reports. As software developer you can create new Dexterity report, assuming that you will also provide new Dex form, where report will be getting parameters

? Dexterity Alternatives. In 1990th the alternatives were VBA ? you could modify Greta Plains form with Modifier and include VBA scripting into your modification ? Dynamics.vba is the dictionary, storing your modification. In 2000th you have .Net instruments, such as eConnect with XML Web Services interface. Technically eConnect is very powerful, but comparing to Dexterity ? Dex has access to all Dynamics GP objects, while eConnect is secondary enabler ? it has access to objects, covered by eConnect development team. Future direction will probably give more options to Business Portal developer, using either eConnect or manipulating another future interface for Great Plains objects

? Dexterity Advancements. These are typically related to Microsoft Great Plains Source Code Programming. Very good extension is posting server, allowing ecommerce developer automatically post GP batches in such modules as Sales Order Processing, GL, Inventory Control, POP, and others

? Comparison to Other Microsoft Dynamics Products. Microsoft Dynamics ERP family include Axapta, Navision, Solomon and with some restrictions Microsoft CRM. Dexterity should be compared with similar technologies: Axapta Microsoft Dynamics AX ? MorphX / X++, Navision Microsoft Dynamics NAV C/SIDE

? Heterogeneous. Or cross platform software development: Oracle, IBM, Sybase, Ingress: Oracle Financials/Ebusiness Suite, Lotus Notes Domino. Microsoft SQL Server technology gives you Linked Server concept, Oracle gives you similar technologies, plus from Java/J2EE you can create various JDBC/ODBC bridges or native drivers

Why Microsoft Windows Vista May Struggle

by: Andrew Peers

So, as most of you all know Microsoft is releasing its first Operating System since the 2001 release of Microsoft Windows XP. Is it going to be a success on a similar level to the its previous and very popular Operating System?

Opinions are obviously widespread and vary greatly but there are some fundamental issues that may cause sales to struggle.

Firstly, the current Operating System, Microsoft Windows XP is very popular and Vista doesn?t really have anything major that will cause people to be eager to switch. When Windows 98 was replaced by XP it had many aspects which made it easier to persuade people to upgrade such as the ability for plug and play hardware for ease of installation. Such advances in computing are not seen within Vista.

There are changes which many a computer professional will find useful such as easier and more secure networking features and also Windows Superfetch, which is able to get more out of the Random Access Memory (RAM) your machine has. However, these improvements may not be seen as valuable enough to prompt a change in Operating System for the less technical home user.

As for Businesses, many will hold back for at least the initial six months to one year period for a number of reasons. Microsoft Windows XP has had some security problems which Microsoft has been addressing and a new Operating System could potentially have some security faults and loopholes which you can guarantee will be very tempting to hackers mainly to have a laugh at the expense of Microsoft.

Many businesses have, believe it or not, only changed over from Windows 98 to Windows XP in the last year or two and another change over which will be time consuming and costly is unlikely to happen initially.

Whilst Microsoft currently has the lion share of the market other Operating Systems such as Linux and Mac OS are becoming more and more popular as a valid alternative to the Windows Operating System. Microsoft needs to be careful not to alienate or confuse its users to avoid increasing the number of users using other alternatives. Other Operating Systems are also less susceptible to hackers and viruses due to the fact hackers mainly target Windows simply because most people use it.

Another issue would be regarding the cost. Many expect Vista to be cheaper than Windows XP was when it was first released to encourage people to switch. However, will users be willing to pay out when XP is still a very usable Operating System?

The majority of new users is likely to be buyers of new PC?s which will come with Vista as the pre-installed Operating System.

Of course Microsoft Windows Vista will eventually take over Windows XP given time and I fully expect it to be a better Operating System once any teething problems are resolved. I personally will be upgrading without any doubt, but only after I know it has been tried and tested to make it worthwhile for me to make the change and I?m sure many others will follow suit.

7 Steps to Creating Your Own Podcast

by: Donna Gunter

Listening to podcasts isn't something I enjoy or take time for, quite frankly. I'm a visual learner and prefer to read something rather than listen to it, as I find reading a much quicker way to gather the info that I need. However, with the proliferation of audio listening devices, like the whole iPod family and other mp3 players, I have to acknowledge that I'm in the minority, I believe. The world is listening to a wide variety of audio files, much more so than ever before in history, and I need to get on the bandwagon or be lost in the dust.

What is a podcast, anyway? A podcast is an audio file that you create in .mp3 format that is uploaded with an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) file to your server for your target market to download on any number of programs created to receive or subscribe to your audio file so that they can listen to it at their leisure on their computer or a personal mp3 device.

Why should you create a podcast? I think it serves as a marketing tool for the solo service professional, who might want to do one of the following:

--create an Internet radio show or talk show in which you create content-rich broadcasts for your target market

--conduct a teleclass series in which you interview experts who have solutions to problems faced by your target market

--promote a printed book, ebook, or CD/DVD series by releasing promotional snippets to a wider audience

--provide short and valuable expert tips to your target market (my Get More Clients Online podcast consists of the weekly article I write for my newsletter)

Many podcasts are about an hour in length, especially when they consist of recordings of radio shows or teleclasses. However, I think that the listening threshold for most people is about 10 minutes. So, that means that your podcast needs to be 10 minutes or less in length. If it's longer, you really have to grab their attention in the first 10 minutes to keep them listening for the full amount of time.

Good content and a good speaking voice are key to maintaining interest. Don't make your podcast one long advertisement for your services or products -- share some useful information with your target market to help them solve their problems. And, you need to have a good speaking voice. Nothing is worse than listening to someone read a speech with a monotone delivery. So, for maximum impact when you record your podcast (especially if you're just recording yourself), get up and walk around, smile, gesture, or do whatever you normally do when you deliver a speech. Modulate your voice, much in the same way that you would when you have a 1:1 conversation with someone -- put feeling and emotion into your words. I pretend like I'm talking to my best friend, and that helps me with a lively delivery.

What are the steps to creating a podcast?

1. Listen to a few podcasts to get a feel for what others are doing. To listen, you'll need a podcatcher (podcast reader), which permits you to subscribe to podcasts in the same way you subscribe to blogs. I favor iTunes as my podcatcher of choice, which is a free online download. You'll also need to find podcasts, and the quickest way to do that is via podcast directories, which include the iTunes store. Podcast Alley, one of the most popular podcasting sites, has a large podcast directory, and Yahoo Podcasts has a podcast search. To find others, simply search online for "podcast directory."

2. Plan your podcast. Who is your target market? What do they want to listen to? How will your podcast be unique from others in your industry? What's your format (interview others, host a teleclass, or record yourself)? How long will your podcast be? How frequently will you deliver your podcasts?

3. Record your podcast. Many people choose to record their podcast with a free piece of software called Audacity. It has an easy learning curve and advanced features for more experienced podcasters. Mac users might want to check out Garage Band. For best recording sound, don't use the microphone that came with your computer or that is built into your laptop. You'll want to get a more professional one, such as the ones offered at Plantronics or Radio Shack.

4. Save and upload your podcast to your server. Once you've created your podcast in an mp3 file, now you have to save it and upload it to a server via an FTP program (like CuteFTP) so that it's readily available. You can upload it to your website, or use one of the many podcasting hosting services available. The problem with uploading it to your website is that audio files are space hogs, and you can quickly exhaust all the storage capacity of your hosting account, not to mention your monthly bandwidth capacity if your podcast is popular and is downloaded frequently. That's why I use a fee-based audio service hosting company, Audio Acrobat, which offers me generous storage and bandwidth capacity for a semi-annual fee. Another popular podcast hosting company is Hipcast.com.

5. Create your podcast feed. You can create your podcast feed from scratch, but I recommend you use a feed service to do so. If you use a podcasting hosting service, this feature is included in your service package. For everyone else, the quickest way to create your podcast feed is through Feedburner.com. This is the same service that creates RSS feeds for blogs. The advantage of creating your podcast feed from this site is that you can create a browser-friendly feed, track your circulation, and enhance your feed with its SmartCast technology.

6. Publish and promote your podcast. If you use a podcasting hosting service, the service will publish your podcast and notify various podcast directories about the availability of your new podcast. Or, you can enter the info directly into the major podcast directories. You'll also want to promote the podcast on your website, blog, and in your email newsletter. One of the easiest ways to do this is to add feed subscription buttons (called chiclets) to your sites. You'll have to cut and paste the HTML code into your templates to create the chiclets. You can get directions on how to publish subscription buttons from the various podcasters you want to feature. Lastly, you'll want to create "album art" for your podcast, or a graphic representation that many podcatchers upload with the mp3 file. Album art may be from 170x170 to 300x300 pixels square at 72 dpi. Any graphic designer can help you create this graphics file.

7. Make money from your podcast. Advertising on podcasts is still fairly new, but some companies like Fruitcast.com or PodcasterAds.com are places to start. Another option is to place Google Adsense listings on all of your sites listing your podcast, or seek sponsors for your podcasts, just like you would for a radio show.

Don't let the audio world pass you by! Podcasting is a very inexpensive way of helping you get the word out about what you do and what you offer to the world.

paypal in the philippines | lipat bahay

it's friday the 13th, oo nga, alam nyo, at kanina nyo pang alam. hehehe. well, what happened? wala namang masamang nangyari. pero may magandang nangyari! Paypal is now available in the Philippines! See story here. Yun nga lang, limited feature pa lang, pero sabi nga nila, it's a good start.

I preferred using http://kaluskoskuskos.com/marhgil instead of http://marhgil.kaluskoskuskos.com. bakit? para mataas na kaagad ang page rank kapag naindex ng google, kasi, may impluwensya si kaluskoskuskos. parang subfolder lang niya. hehehe.

yun lang!

paraskevidekatriaphobia

kung takot ka sa friday the 13th, meron kang paraskevidekatriaphobia. di ba, friday the 13th ngayon? so yung mga takot sa friday the 13th, stay at home na lang kayo. hehehe.

bakit ba nagkaroon ng ganitong phobia? saan ba nagsimula ito. e ano ngayon kung byernes ngayon at 13th day of the month? alam nyo ba na malaki ang nawawalang pera dahil sa friday the 13th na yan? last august 13, 2004, ayon sa national geographic news, "an estimated US$800 to US$900 million is lost on business because people will not fly or do business they would normally do." ayon pa rin sa kanila, nagsimula pa raw yang phobia na yan noon pang unang panahon. doon nyo na lang basahin kung ano ang buong kwento. hehehe.

well, anyway, today is friday. friday the 13th. tuloy ang agos ng buhay. kahapon pa kami pinasweldo, bakit, dahil ba ayaw din nilang magpasweldo ng friday the 13th? ewan ko. basta, pinasweldo na kami kahapon dahil yung a-kinse ay natapat ng sunday. so, may maganda rin palang naidudulot yang friday the 13th, napapaaga ang sweldo. hehehe.

konting trivia, do you know that fidel castro is born on friday the 13th? sabi sa biography nya, he was born on august 13, 1926. tapos, yung si Tupac Shakur daw, namatay on Friday the 13th, September 13, 1996. mahirap talaga kapag may tupak, minamalas. hehehe.

kukote in a jar beta

i'm finally hosted! i got a wordpress account, courtesy of my insang nao! salamat insan!

to insang nao, maraming maraming maraming salamat!

Equitable PCI Banco De Oro Bank | Auction.PH | billboards | terorista

After magvolt-in ang Google at YouTube, what's next? See story here. Hehehe. Equitable PCI Banco De Oro Bank? Ang haba! hehehe.

Kahapon, nagsign-up ako sa Auction.PH. Meron pang isa, yung Daily Lucky 3 Combo. May featured product naman sila na kapag nahulaan mo yung lucky 3 digits, sa iyo na yung product for a price of P100. Ano ba yung mga featured products? Cellphone, Magic sing, DVD player at kung ano-ano pa. Wala namang mawawala kung sasali ako, kasi wala namang bayad. Libre lang ang membership. Basta kailangan lang, at least 18 years old ka.

DPWH.. very good! Sana totoo yan. Hehehe. What do you think?

Isa pang balita.

snatcher at isang bandila

How To Avoid Common Personal Banking Mistakes

Interesting article I found at article city.

How To Avoid Common Personal Banking Mistakes
by: Peter Kenny

Using a bank can really save you money, but there are also ways in which you lose a lot of money. If you are not proactive in recognising potential dangers and mistakes, then you could be caught out. Here are some of the most common personal banking mistakes and how to avoid them.

Not reviewing your statements

Many people get their statement each month, open it and then throw it away. If you don't look at your statements properly then you will not see mistakes on your account that could be costing you a lot of money. If there is a payment that you did not make then you could be charged a fee, and there is also a chance that you card has been copied. Checking your statements against all your purchases each month is imperative.

Paying too much

Many people are too lazy to shop around or to question the fees that they pay each month on their accounts. If you look at the fees you pay you might find that you are paying far too much. If this is the case then it is time to shop around for a better deal, because you could save yourself a lot of money each year just by not paying expensive banking fees.

Leaving paper around

When you look at your bank statement or open bank related information, make sure that you don't leave it lying around. If you carelessly discard information relating to your account then you are an easy target for identity thieves and fraudsters. Make sure that you keep all bank related information in a safe place, and shred any documents that you are going to throw away.

Using ATMs without care

When using an ATM, make sure that you take precautions. Do not write down your PIN number anywhere near your card, and make sure that you shield your number when you type it in. Being aware of people around you when using an ATM can stop most potential crime.

Banking online in public

Although you might need to check your account urgently, checking your online account and carrying out transactions on a wireless network is not totally secure. There is a chance that someone could access your details, or that the transaction will be lost. Use your online banking at home if at all possible.

Not establishing a relationship

If you want to get the best deals from your bank, then you need to establish a relationship with them. If you have a local branch, then arrange a meeting with the bank manager so that you know who they are. Although you might never need their help, if there are any problems or you need extra funds then knowing your bank manager can really help.

Only borrowing from your bank

If you have been loyal to one bank for a while, then perhaps it is time to rethink that loyalty. Although you might think your bank offers the best deal, whenever you want to purchase a new financial product you should shop around. There are many other places, particularly online, that can offer you great deals on borrowing money from credit cards or loans. If you are careful with your banking information and shop around for the best deals, then you can avoid most of these common personal banking mistakes.
