i've been studying search engine optimization(SEO) since mag-umpisa yang isulong seoph contest ng aking kahomonyms ang pangalan na si marc hil macalua. well, magaling sya, his campaign is good, at narealize ko, well, it's a good thing kung matututunan ko yang search engine optimization na yan. i still remember on my previous company, yun ang isa sa problema namin. kasi, if you search the term IVR, or "interactive voice response", hindi man lang lumalabas sa first few pages ng search results yung website namin. di ba, nga naman, you'll get more clients if your website is on the first page of the search results. di ba?

so hayun, since that topic got me, i got hooked. but i did not join the contest. gusto ko sanang sumali, kaso, wala naman akong sariling domain. hanggang blogspot lang ako. hehehe. so, what i did, naghanap ako ng materials sa internet, ng mga topic tungkol nga dyan sa search engine optimization. mga pdf na downloadables, na mababasa ko during free time ko. aside from that, i made my own project, syempre, para maiapply ko ang natutunan ko kung totoong effective nga ba yung techniques na nabasa ko.

kaya nabuo ang textmates. habang sila ay busy sa pag-ooptimize ng kanilang site for the keyword "isulong seoph," ako naman ay busy rin sa pag-ooptimize ng textmates for the keywords "text messages", "funny text messages" at "inspirational text messages". if you check google.com, milyon milyong website ang nag-aagawan sa keywords na yan. so, parang i gave myself an impossible task: to be on the first page of the search results on major search engines for those keywords! hehehe.

so far, after 2 weeks of having that site, here are the developments. nasa kailaliman pa rin sya sa googel, hindi ko pa nga matanaw if you search those keywords. hehehe. pero try searching them on msn and yahoo! ito ang mga resulta as of this moment.

MSN:
"text messages" : page 1 out of 14,797,722 (fifth on the list!)
"inspirational text messages" : page 1 out of 169,587 (1st on the list!!!)
"funny text messages": page 1 out of 2,737,516 (fifth on the list!)

Yahoo:
"text messages" : hindi ko pa makita. huhuhu!
"inspirational text messages" : page 3. number 30 of about 5,080,000
"funny text messages" : page 1! number 2 of about 607,000!!!

i did not put the screen shots, mas maganda if you try it yourself, di ba? hehehe. not bad for a two weeks effort, di ba? considering na isa akong baguhan dyan sa search engine optimization. hehehe. anyway, unti-unti, makikita rin yan sa google, sobra kasing daming iniindex nilang page eh. i'm giving myself 3 months, para at least, makita sya sa first page ng google search results. pero sa MSN at Yahoo, ewan ko ba, hindi ko naman sila sinuhulan eh, aba at kagaling at nasa first page na kaagad ako. kaya pala unti-unti, dumarami ang aking bisita doon sa kabila. hehehe.

well, that textmates project is my proof na marunong ako ng SEO. hehehe. kung meron sa inyong gustong kunin akong consultant, bakit hindi? gusto nyo, kapag nagsearch ng cute, blog nyo ang lalabas? hehehe. still, number 1 para rin itong blog na ito sa keyword na kukote. hehehe.

yun lang!
